王德华：纯自然科学，纯理论科学，英语的确很重要，因为要读国际最前沿的文献。但是，导师最看重的还是学生的能力，英语只是个工具，英语好不一定能力就强。我们所里有的学生，英语不是很好，但是看文献一点问题没有，做英文的学术报告，虽然不流利，说的慢，但很清楚，这就是能力。
文双春：做科学研究，英语还是很重要的，看文献、文、国际学术交流等，都要用到英语，但是对于科研来讲英语不是决定性因素。最根本的因素还是本学科的基础和能力，以及思维和方法。
小贴士：重英语的专业
(1)现在的自然科学一般都是发源于西方，国际学术圈子的主流语言还是英语，需要读研的学生阅读英文的文献，了解学术的最前沿。

一般来说，所给的文献多是与专业相关的综述性文章。而参加复试可能有不少跨专业考研的，考虑到复试的公x性，导师随机摘选段落让你阅读翻译，是根据你的表达来判断你的理解概括能力。所以不要一字一句地翻译，这样容易出现词不达意、句子组织混乱。你只要看懂文章的大致意思，就可以适当发挥。
