Good afternoon ，ladies and gentlemen!

I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! my topic isOpportunities and Challenges.

First, I would like to know, what does your destiny offer you? Happiness,wisdom, a strong body or something else. If I had asked this question topresident Nixon, he would probably had said,”Our destiny offers not the cup ofdespair, but the chalice of opportunity.”

Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the2022 Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time.How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercisingequipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots ofmodern gyms which are under construction.

Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by theOlympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more peoplewill get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attractthem strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment,for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness ofenvironmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games givea unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youthwith the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so manyadvances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?

I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyoneshould use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have anyspecial meaning to you?”

For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 2022 Olympic Games is a tremendous gift.Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying thelove given to us .The society is just like a ship, and in our dreams the captainis waving his hand and saying ”Hey! Come here and take the helm! ”How charminghis voice is, but we have never heard of it in our true life. This morning,however, when we wake up, we will see the Olympic Games waving its hand. Afterchewing, most of us will have at least one plan about what to do for the OlympicGames. And mine is to be a “comforter” ----that is someone who will give comfortto others.

At the end of my speech, I hope all the preparation will go well, andeveryone will show their ability to the world. Let us seize opportunities andgive a big smile to challenges.

Good afternoon everybody! It's my honor to speak here and I am very glad toshare my topic with all of you. Today I'd like to talk about “my dream”. I donot just have one dream, in fact, I have three. They are: a healthy life, ahappy family and to travel my great country.

I have always admired the long healthy life my grandparents have. They areolder than 80 years of age and they are still alive and kicking! How do they dothat!? My grandparents plant vegetables and grow rice themselves; even in theirold age they still make food for themselves! I guess that is why they can remainhealthy. More importantly they remain humble and never ask for too much fromlife. Perhaps that makes them common, but they live a happy life. My grandmotheronce told me this:” I do not want to live long, only long enough for some grandchildren to be running around in my house”. I want to live a long, healthy andhappy life just as they have.

Since my graduation from primary school, until now, every time on mybirthday I make the same wish. I wish my parents will not fight anymore. I amnot complaining that they gave me a bad childhood, they just fight so much! I amunhappy but that does not mean they do not love me. They do! They love me withall their heart. I love my parents also; I want them to live a happy life aswell.

I want to travel this great country of ours. I want to see the beauty ofour country. I want to see the miracles that made this country great! I want togo from the east to west, from the north all the way down to the south! I have adream, that one day I can travel and see my country with my family and friends!If that is not possible, seeing my country on my own is good enough also. If Ican fulfill all three of my dreams in life, then God can take me away. I wouldbe happy, and l would have lived a full and prosperous life.

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of theappetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we growold by deserting our ideals.

years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul .worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .　 whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders,the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game ofliving . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station :so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power frommen and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows ofcynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but aslong as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you maydie young at 80. thank you!

The peak looks so far away from our, the leg is so painful, and others saythat, forget it, you can't climb up, quickly stop and rest.

So, the higher of the mountain, the fewer people. So, no matter how tired, no matter how hard, we still adhere to theteeth, until success. You got a dream, you gonna protect it. When we at the mosthard time, hold on for a moment, will be the most beautiful scenery.

We are in a constant state of trying to get something better anddifferent.We are often trying to be someone different,even when the current usis pretty decent. If you are not happy being you,then who else can you be? Ineach person's life,will meet a lot of individual who will impactedthemselves.Some people teach you a lot of things. Some may give you a lot ofencouragement As for me there are also some people inspired me.But the mostgreat impact was my dear father.

When I was a little girl,I often want to give up study instead playgames.Then my father will told me "Perseverance is the golden key to beingsuccessful in anything you do.It's a matter of hanging on long afte others havequit".When I was a teenager I like to make track for a star,and like imageslike,including dress etc.Then my Dad always tell me that"Be what you are, notwhat you aren't,because when you are what you aren't,then you aren't what youare".All of the things are inspired me so much.

Sometimes,I think my father was a philosopher,sometimes think he is aactivists,always set an example for his child ,do what a father should do.He isalways working hard to feed large family, he is always considerate to forgivehis naughty children,moreover he filial piety to the old person,to repayparents' brought up. In a word, he always so good.

Of course he's not a iron man,he also has a fragile, but he never loseself,and perseverance.What's more, when I meet with some troubles and want togive up, he always encourage me.I still remember what he told me "perseveranceovercomes almost everything.When you fall, perseverance tells you get up.Whenyou are defeated,perseverance tells you to try again .When you feel likequitting, perseverance doesn't let you".

Nowadays, I am an adults,and as a college student,I always unavoidablydepending on my father, I often call to my father to ask some questions,meanwhile I also want to know how are they recently I start my college lifefollowed with my fathers edification.Because of my dear father,I know howimportant to be myself.I have to be true to myself, because the only importantthing in life is what you do with the time on spend here in earth.So I'll alwaysbe optimistic and happy in the following time.Also,as my father told me,just beperseverance to do everything. So that I can do anything I wish to create myfuture!
