我们的美好家园光环保还不够，还要人人团结。现在，有时一个不小心的动作，电瓶车擦伤了汽车，于是，两位车主便会大吵特吵，互相说对方的不对，甚至大打出手。其实这是很不好的，不仅不能把事情很好地解决掉，而且还会将事情越闹越大，最后一发不可收拾。所以我就觉得，在我们的美好家园中遇到这种事情大家都应该相互包容一些，团结一些，互相赔偿一下对方的损失，最后再互相道个歉，将事情很好地解决掉，这样子不比吵架甚至动手打人的暴力解决法要好得多、快得多吗?

初读《劝学》，荀子时而言物时而论人，感觉毫无章法。但仔细读过三四遍后，思路逐渐清晰，荀子要告诉我们的是，从了解自己，到修养自己，直至成就自己的过程。
做人最难的是了解自己，好像禅宗参口头禅“我是谁”一样。为了方便我们了解，荀子给我们暂时确定了位置，我是“青”，“青，取之于蓝而青于蓝”;我是“冰”，“冰，水为之而寒于水”。如果“蓝”与“水”代表做人的基本标准，扪心自问我做到了么?更不要说荀子所要求的“青”与“冰”代表的境界。
荀子通过地理以及自然现象，一步步展开告诉我们万事万物形成有它的机缘，了解人应该是什么样子。人之所以为人，是因为我们站在先人的肩膀上，通过不断的学习，不断扩大我们对于世界的认知，不断超越自我。所以，人区别于牲畜，是因为人具有学习的能力，但也仅仅是一线的差别：“为之，人也;舍之，禽兽也。”有时称人为“行尸走肉”，是因为“无冥冥之志”，若能做到“君子结于一也”，则满足了做人的基本条件。
荀子教导我们如何做人，他老人家非常慈悲而且耐心，从天地间的现象、事理到《诗》、《书》、《礼》、《乐》、《春秋》等纲要，深入浅出的举例论述，就是要告诉我们一个简单的道理“做人本该如此”。但我们的人生为何在不断退色(从青→蓝→浅蓝→灰)?为何我们“渐行渐远”远离大道呢?因为我们忘记了自己应该做的事情“博学而日参省乎已”。
由于人的根本烦恼贪、嗔、痴的存在，心智被蒙蔽了，对于世间万物所展现的自然规律我们视而不见，圣人所倡导的为人之道我们听而不闻。荀子简要的区分两种为学的态度：君子之学与小人之学。如果仅仅“入乎耳，出乎口”，而没有经过“心”，这样的学习对于自己没有任何帮助。如何能够提升自身的修养?我们应该做到“入乎耳，着乎心，布乎四体，形乎动静”。
在这里，荀子告诉我们如何打破障碍，开启智慧的两种方法。第一，首先要博学，把所学的东西融会贯通，熟记于心;然后，反省自己的心态以及言行是否符合为人之道，正确的坚持，错误的抛弃;最后，做到心、意、行统一，世间的为人处世尽量合乎于道法。当然还要继续学习、反省、做事，如此反复，心量不断扩大，境界不断提升。
第二，按照类似于禅宗“戒、定、慧”的法门修行也能成功。关于“戒”，荀子反复要求我们，“问楛者，勿告也;告楛者，勿问也;说楛者，勿听也。有争气者，勿与辩也”，“使目非是无欲见也，使耳非是无欲闻也，使口非是无欲言也，使心非是无欲虑也”。关于“定”的境界，荀子描述道“是故权利不能倾也，群众不能移也，天下不能荡也。”最后，由定生慧，荀子称之为“应”，“能定然后能应”，能应天下之事，此乃“得大自在”也。
荀子告诫我们，虽然我们生为“人”形，但若不勤于学习，不了解本心，就会与“禽兽”无异。荀子同时告诉我们，经过不断修炼后的为“人”的标准：“能定能应，夫是之谓成人”。
为“人”就已经很难了，但是在《劝学》里，荀子并不仅仅满足于为“人”，因为青要胜于蓝的，如何成为“圣贤”，是他对我们的殷切希望。人如果超越自我就会进入“圣人”的境界，超越自我并不是自己超然于物外，而是应该具有极度谦卑的心态，认为自己什么都不是才对。在《劝学》通篇，找不到荀子对于圣人境界的描述，但是他已经为我们指出了成为“圣贤”的必经之路，在开篇他已经提到“学不可以已”!

“锲而舍之，朽木不折;锲而不舍，金石可镂”可想而知，坚持信念是一股追逐夙愿的燃烧烈火，坚持信念是摆脱枷锁禁锢，开怀地在辽阔长空翔游而展现英姿的雄伟翅膀，坚持信念是打开心扉尽情地在苍茫大地驰骋的动力源泉，坚持信念是焕发神圣曙光的黎明晨曦。
然而，对于当今社会锲而舍之，始乱终弃的人与锲而不舍，坚持信念的人形成了一个鲜明的对比，究竟两者之间有着怎样的联系渊源?究竟两者又是怎样的落幕?
“锲而舍之，朽木不折。”《荀子·劝学》篇中，荀子写道：如果镂刻而不能坚持下去，就连朽木也不会被折断。比喻做事要持之以恒，善始善终。然而，古往今来，违背这个道理，与这个道理背道而行的人都不得善终，终究沉沦于万丈迷茫的深渊，演绎着峥嵘岁月坎坷的落寞悲剧。在远古时代，春秋战国时期的吴越战争中，吴王夫差为了替夫阖闾报仇，起初树立宏远，心系国家，为了追逐自己的夙愿，他励精图治，促进了国家的发展，推动了国家的进程，让国家的迈向鼎盛的巅峰，迎来繁荣富强的蓝天，播种大地的春芳。结果，吴越一战后，经过吴王夫差一系列实施的政策改革，吴王夫差大胜越王勾践。然而，吴王夫差却满足于现状，并没有把昔日大治的雄风延续和弘扬下去，而是半途而废，不把精力倾注于内政，固步自封，一直沉沦和陶醉于美酒佳人，没有采取任何措施治理内政，致使吴国的国力一直堕落，最终陷入迷茫的深渊。而被放虎归山的越王勾践方面，卧薪尝胆，坚持不懈，让昔日即将沦陷的国家焕发出生机的曙光，播种太平的春芳。最终，越王勾践以逆转式战胜吴王夫差。纵观吴王夫差的一生，由树立宏远，坚持不懈的发展趋势堕落到后来的半途而废，锲而舍之，结果一生就演绎着沉沦堕落的殒命悲剧下场。
“锲而不舍，金石可镂”《荀子·劝学》篇中，荀子写道：“只要坚持不停的用刀刻，金属石头也可以雕成花饰。”比喻做人要拥有锲而不舍的精神。然而，古往今来，顺从这个道理的人最终会成就一番事业，让自己的人生闪耀璀璨，闪烁着灿烂的光辉。在近代的历史风云中，诞生了伟大的发明家：爱迪生。爱迪生伟大的创举，并非一朝一夕造就的，也并非神圣的智慧结晶铸就的，爱迪生能拥有灿烂的辉煌，都是由坚持不懈的努力流下汗水铸造而成的。爱迪生曾经说过一句名言：“天才是由百分之九十九的汗水加百分之一的努力铸就成的。”纵观观爱迪生的一生，经历过无数次的挫败，但是坚持信念，锲而不舍，才偶尔迎来久违的希望曙光，诞生伟大的创举，足以见证爱迪生名言的真实性和可靠性，他伟大的创举和灿烂的辉煌都是由坚持信念的汗水铸就和沉淀而成的。
坚持信念的汗水可以沉淀出成功的辉煌。“杂交水稻之父”袁隆平也是一个典型的例子。当袁隆平成功研究出杂交水稻之方法的时候，除了告慰昔日饱受沧桑的心灵后，回首过去，曾经遭受过他人的不信任，曾经遭受过他人冷眼与嘲笑，曾经遭受过盛夏酷暑的炽热和寒冬飞雪的严寒，经历过挫败的折磨，经历过即将成功破灭，经历过汗水的沉淀，但是自己却坚持心中承载已久的信念，力挽狂澜，锲而不舍，最终铸就灿烂闪烁的辉煌，让举世触目的杂交水稻诞生于苍穹乾坤之下。纵观袁隆平的一生，“杂交水稻之父”的荣誉称号和杂交水稻之方法无疑亦是由锲而不舍的精神和坚持信念的汗水沉淀而成的，让即将面临黯淡的一生焕发神圣的曙光，点亮了黯淡的人生，让人生由此闪耀璀璨，绽放光芒。

My Opinion of Today’s Education
I think one of the main problems with today’s education is that too much emphasis is placed on test scores. It has become the most important criterion for college enrollment. A student, however creative and intelligent, will not be admitted into a college if his total scores are just one point less than required. It is also one of the crucial factors either in job assignment or in employment competitions.
The competition for high scores among students becomes intense. Students find themselves concentrating more on strategies to achieve high scores than on acquiring knowledge. They will play truant of some subsidiary course, skip over the substance which will not be tested on, even pump teachers for hints on upcoming exams. Teachers are apt to give their students high scores. As their job is judged mainly by the students’ performance in terms of scores, some teachers tend to set easy papers to test their students on or narrow down the scope of the exam. Some teachers even leak “accidentally” the exam questions or lower their criterion of scoring.
As a result, the competition for high scores becomes so intense that it actually defeats academic goals of education.
